[The following is a transcript of a presentation I gave at a local church on November 16, 2008.]
Introduction
Good morning brothers and sisters. The first thing I want to do is express what an honor it is to be here with you this morning. I never dreamed that I would have the privilege of standing here beside Pastor Ned, and being given the honor to speak from his pulpit. What you need to understand is that Ned was my first pastor. I grew up in

Church during the 1960s and 1970s, and Ned was our pastor.
You see, I am incredibly fortunate, because Pastor Ned was my first example of what a Christian Minister should be, and hearing him speak again is like going back home to my mother’s house for Sunday dinner.
It’s just wonderful.
I remember standing in the sanctuary one Sunday when I was ten or eleven years old, when I knew I had to respond to the alter call.
So I went down front, and shortly after that Ned baptized me.
I’ve always thought the world of you Pastor Ned, and I just can’t tell you what a thrill it is, and also what a privilege it is for you to invite me here to share with your congregation today.
Thank you so very much.
