[The following is a transcript of a presentation I gave at a local church on November 16, 2008.]
Introduction
Good morning brothers and sisters. The first thing I want to do is express what an honor it is to be here with you this morning. I never dreamed that I would have the privilege of standing here beside Pastor Ned, and being given the honor to speak from his pulpit. What you need to understand is that Ned was my first pastor. I grew up in

Church during the 1960s and 1970s, and Ned was our pastor.
You see, I am incredibly fortunate, because Pastor Ned was my first example of what a Christian Minister should be, and hearing him speak again is like going back home to my mother’s house for Sunday dinner.
It’s just wonderful.
I remember standing in the sanctuary one Sunday when I was ten or eleven years old, when I knew I had to respond to the alter call.
So I went down front, and shortly after that Ned baptized me.
I’ve always thought the world of you Pastor Ned, and I just can’t tell you what a thrill it is, and also what a privilege it is for you to invite me here to share with your congregation today.
Thank you so very much.

I just wanted to sit down for a few minutes and record some of my thoughts. Two of the missionaries just dropped by the house today, and we had a good discussion.
The two young men were both around 20 years of age, and were good guys. I greeted them warmly and invited them in for a chat. I didn’t want to deceive them in any way, so I immediately told them that I used to be a member of the Church, and I asked them if that would bother them. They were Ok with it. So, we all three sat down for a chat.

Meet your Church leaders #2
Check out my newest montage. I examine the Church leaders’ track record when it comes to prophecy.
I think I’m getting addicted to this stuff….

I got an e-mail from the LDS book store today. Here’s the subject line:
”Joseph Smith’s Birthday Sale Up to 85% OFF 12/14/07 12/28/07″
I kid you not, my friends. The Liahona bookstore (generally acknowledged among Latter-day Saints as their “official” Church bookstore) is running a “Joseph Smith Birthday” sale during Christmas.
And Mormons wonder why no one else in the mainstream Christian community accepts them as fellow Christians.
I gotta go lie down ….

Please take a few minutes to enjoy this informative new video from Living Hope Ministries.
Having been out of the Church for nearly two years now, I’ve done a lot of reading and studying about polygamy. I found this video to be a fresh and welcome insight into the lives of women caught up in the world of polygamy.
The guys at Living Hope Ministries are really something else. They’ve put together several top-notch documentaries on Mormonism. Give them a visit at www.lhvm.org.

A friend of mine sent me a link to a youtube video the other day. It’s comprised of short clips taken from a address given by Robert Millet on March 11, 2004, to the Mission Prep Club - a group of young Mormons preparing for a mission. Millet was formerly the Dean of Religious Education at BYU. He’s now with Church Public Affairs.
Considering the content and popularity of this video (to date, it has been viewed over 20,000 times), I wonder how much Millet is really helping the Church’s image in his position with Church Public Affairs….
You simply must watch this edited clip.
If you want the full version (43 mins), you can watch it here.
For those of you who aren’t going to view it, let me give you some highlights of the things that Millet was teaching these young people:
“As Latter-day Saints, you already know more about God, and Christ, and the Plan of Salvation than anyone who will attack you. Take my word for that. You already know more than your attackers will ever know.”

Latter-day Saint apologists claim to have found a “direct hit” in the book of Nephi. Here, Nephi describes his journey from Jerusalem through the wilderness with his family around 600 BCE. During their journey, he makes mention of a couple of places named ”Nahom” and “Bountiful,” and LDS apologists believe they have found archaeological evidence to support their actual existence. In their opinion, Joseph Smith could not have been familiar enough with the geography of ancient Arabia to have included such accurate information about Lehi’s trek through the wilderness.
In describing these finds, apologists have said the sites are “in just the right location,” “in just the right place,” and that they constitute “bulls eyes,” “precise confirmation” and “a direct hit.”
Well, where exactly did Joseph say that Nahom and Bountiful were located?
